Position Title: Graduate Assistant – Cheer and Stunt
Position Accountable To: Head Cheer and Stunt Coach
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assistance with all phases of the cheer and stunt program, including practice duties, game-related activities; overall program logistics, committing to the academic progress and success of student-athletes; assisting with recruitment and admission of student-athletes; assist in the coordination of fundraising, camps, clinics and special events.
Develop a familiarity with applicable rules and maintain the integrity of the athletic program through the appropriate application of these rules.
Provide excellent customer service to our students, donors, sponsors, alumni and all of our internal and external constituents.
Graduate Assistants receive a stipend in addition to full tuition, however books and fees are not included.
Stipend:
On campus - $5,000.00
Off Campus - $7,500.00
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
30% - Recruiting, Retention and Continuing Eligibility
30% - Game and Practice Preparation
10% - Player Skill and Team Cohesion Development
10% - Supervision of Athletes
10% - Program-Specific and Department Fund Raising
10% - Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Must be accepted and enrolled in a CMU Graduate Program, and maintain continuous enrollment in the degree program at all times. The total hours allowed for the graduate program would be 36 credit hours, for a two-year period, and should not be completed early.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
First Aid, CPR, AED; ability to lift 50lbs, stand on your feet for periods of three to five hours at a time for contests and games.
Set up equipment and facility for practices and games.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form. Experience with Microsoft Word.
